Sponsored by the Financial Planning Institute and Personal Finance Magazine, Alec was named Financial Planner of the year for 2009 and this combined with age group victories in the SA Iron Man and 70.3 illustrates his desire to be the best he can be is back, after numerous years in the 'wilderness'.

In 2010 he won the 50+ Age Group at Ironman South Africa and fulfilled one of his lifelong ambitions, in qualifying to compete at the World Ironman Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Alec will be updating this site weekly with updates and pictures, to ensure all those who have supported him are kept abreast of his preparations, as he challenges for the title of the world's fittest 50 year old.
